This policy explains how Skreen (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Skreen macOS app and the skreen.app website. We’ve kept it short and plain, because we collect very little.
The app runs on your device
Skreen applies a visual texture and colour layer over your display, locally on your Mac. It does not capture, record, store, or transmit the contents of your screen, and it does not require an account to use.
What we collect
- Email you give us. If you enter your email to be notified about updates, we store that address only to contact you about Skreen. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
- Basic website data. Like most websites, skreen.app may record standard, aggregate technical information (such as page requests and approximate region) through our hosting provider, used only to keep the site running and understand general traffic. It is not used to identify you.
- App diagnostics. If you choose to send diagnostic or crash reports, they may contain anonymous technical information to help us fix problems. This is optional.
How we use it
To reply to you, to send only the updates you asked for, and to improve Skreen. We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us operate, and only as needed:
- Apple — distributes the app and handles purchases through the App Store, under Apple’s own privacy terms.
- Our website host — serves skreen.app and processes basic request data on our behalf.
- Our email provider — stores and sends the update emails you opted into.
Keeping and removing your data
We keep your email only while you want to hear from us. To access or delete anything we hold about you, email hello@skreen.app and we’ll take care of it.
Children
Skreen is a general-audience product and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
